NMW increase and earnings threshold increase (1 March 2021)

The national minimum wage has been increased to R21.69 per hour. This includes farmworkers, whose wages have been equalised to the full national minimum wage. Domestic workers will earn R19.09 per hour. Domestic workers and security guards who are employed on farms, are farmworkers and will earn the full NMW.


Furthermore, the earnings threshold has been increased to R211 596.30. This will also be in effect from 1 March 2021.
